Anime Matsuri 2014

This is some old news, but in March 2014 I went to my first anime con in Houston: Aime Matsuri. Even after some minor issues with flights and how unorganized the convention was I decided to return again for Anime Matsuri 2015. Ticket is already bought so I am pumped!

My thoughts on Anime Matsuri:
After the tiring time trying to get to Houston, I was able to make it to Anime Matsuri. My time spent there was too short! So here is a short break down of what all I did and who I met. :D



Friday:
Have to say this convention seems very unorganized, but I heard it is normal so I won't complain too much. Most of the shows and the exhibit hall were on an hour delay. Was waiting in line to view the exhibit hall where I became friends with Holly and her daughter. They were amazing and so nice to talk to especial since I was traveling by myself to this convention. Once the doors finally opened I bought all my Reika related souvenirs. I really wanted the giant poster of Reika that they had displayed by the car that was decked out in Attack on Titan art.

I spent most of the time just exploring the convention center and taking photos before heading back to the Doubletree hotel to change into my Lolita outfit for the JFashion Show! Though before the fashion show i did go to an Uta no Prince-sama meet-up where I met other fans and got my picture taken with them. I was depressed that my suite case had not shown up in time for me to dress up as Ai Mikaze, but I still went and had fun meeting other fans! :D. I also had an appointment at the Maid-cafe where I as treat nice by my Butler Haru :D He really got into talking with me when I told him I was an archaeology major that time flew by and our session ended. He told me that it was the best conversation he had all day with someone and I felt very honored :)!

Anime Matsuri's JFashion Show: This is where I met a fellow fangirl who is in love with Akira, Alex. We were both the first in line for the fashion show and acting like a bunch of high school girls over our first girl crushes lol.  I can't wait to see her video of the show!!!! the JFashion Show was set up as a story and Reika was the prince who is in love with the main character of the story with Akira being the knight. Reika was beautiful and then all hell broke loose when the Dark Lord showed up beating Prince Tristan and then shooting him. Me and a lot of Reika's fan screamed "NO!!!!" it was both funny and "OMG WHY?!" at the same time. I am sure you will hear me in Alex's video..... lol. The Dark Lord about to shoot Prince Tristan (NO!!!!!!!!).

Luckily Akira arrives to chase the Dark Lord off before he threatens the princess. At the end of the show, Prince Tristan is brought back to life and is reunited with the princess.

Saturday:

She was so amazing and so nice to everyone!!!! I had front row seats and could not put my camera down! lol So happy to meet the person who inspired me to get into sewing again and to encourage me to cosplay!!!! she did a group shot the she posted on her twitter and you can see me dressed as the Undertaker from Black Butler :D (my suite case made it to the hotel Friday at 9pm).

I spent the next few hours being asked to be in pictures. Everyone loved my Undertaker cosplay :D so happy!!!! Got a lot of compliments and people saying mine was the best by far so it was very encouraging :)

I attended Reika's photo op session (photo to come soon- I hope) and her autograph session. I was so surprise to see that Reika was taller than me. I shall always be short.... lol

The grand finally of the night was attending Nightmares concet! Got to see Holly and her daughter before the concert and was glad to see them again! :D I was almost right in front of the stage, there was only one row of people in front of me. the guitarist, Hitsugi was playing on the side of the stage i was standing by and he was amazing! They all were amazing and they sang my favorite song Raison d'Ãtre :D. I also got a hi-five from Hitsugi as well! So epic way to end the day!!!!

 Sunday:

Not much happened :(. had to leave by 1pm so I did some last minute shopping and photos. I am sad I missed Reika's Ren, but it gives me another reason to go and meet her!!!!! Thank you so much for visiting the US Reika. I was to nervous to even to ask for a hug or even to shake her hand. I hope to meet her again in the future and I hope she liked the gift I made for her :D

My Cosplaying

I've grown up with conventions all my life, my father Joe Motes use to run a convention called Vulkon Entertainment. It was dedicated to most scifi shows, but he did create a few for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Back then I really wasn't into cosplaying, but I did find it interesting to see what people did. It wouldn't be until I attended my first convenion outside of Vulkon that I got really interested in cosplaying, Dragoncon 2009 to be exact. My friend Monica on the left and I am on the right.  Before I started to cosplay I was in a high school club called Paladin Society where I volunteered at Renaissance Fairs thought out south Florida. This is where I learned how to sew, weave on a loom, learned about Apothecary and weapons fighting. Anime Matsuri 2016

My long awaited return to Anime Matsuri (AM) came and went so quickly. I miss it so much and once again I have a lot to say about Anime Matsuri. I had no trouble getting there this year and that is always good. I had 5 new roommates: Marley , Dulce , Ryan , Samantha , and Kathryn . Sam and Kat, had horrible car trouble just five minutes from the hotel. Luckily, they were able to get the car fixed and still enjoy their time at AM. This year at AM was sharing my love for Reika and Kaname with my roommates and showing them how cool the guest stars are besides just walking around. By Day 2 of the convention, I think I succeeded *evil laughter* Day 0: Thursday Akira and I Landed in Houston at 1pm, which was perfect timing to attend the Meet and Greet with Akira at the shop Alice in Wonderland in China Town.
