~~~ Anime Matsuri 2015 ~~~

           By far a lot better than last year with arriving by airplane and the time of events starting at the convention. I have to say as soon as I arrived at Hilton Americas in Houston, TX on Thursday April 2 craziness started. Met up with my roommates for the convention Alex (who I met last year, ya that crazy girl who fangirled with me last JFashion Show), Carla, and the Kawaii Ambassador of Mexico Daniela....... basically a cosplayer rooming with three Lolitas, what craziness can come of that, right? How about shaking hands with Reika finally!!!! Which caused my heart and brain to over heat and want to rash from over excitement XD Slowly working my way for a hug. Little steps....little steps. I think my roommates finally understood how bad I am around Reika XD, but I don't care it makes me soooooo happy :) It was the most longest weekend, but because it felt long I had 3 times more fun than last year. WOOT!

Friday             
         Cosplayed Mad Hatter Undertaker and was busy running around to panels and meetings. There was a lot to do before the JFashion show were I saw my roommates Alex and Daniela on stage with Akira and Reika. Along with some other famous Japanese Lolita models. Early that day I had my autograph session with Reika and Kaname*. Kaname* is so epic! He is very sweet, hyper, and has some great English when he uses it :3. At the autograph session, I got to shake his hand and he loved my cosplay. Reika was so amazing, I was so glad she was selling her Free! Photobook. I loved it!

                For a bit I attended the Black Butler Photo Op and took a few photos. Though I had the honor of running into Jared, a Sebastian cosplayer a few dozen times with Alex. I have to say Alex you will make a fabulous Ciel Phantomhive..... you already have that attitude, dearie!!!! ;) Also Jared that cheese cake was delicious, thanks for sharing!!!! After a quick run to see the panel for Akira & Boy Style Lolita, I had to run and change for the JFashion show, because those Undertaker heels were killing me! The seating this year was 100% better and I get a seat right next to the stage giving me great spot for photos and seeing Reika...... and my roommies of course XD

                Also got to meet a new friend, just like with Alex, the poor guy Robert and my roommie Carla had to seem my horrible fangirling over Reika. I think we can all agree my reactions were just as entertaining as watching the fashion show XD. This year story was called Monster, and from the vibe I was getting from the show it was about a Prince (Akira) who was betrayed and wanted revenge, but after getting his revenge with the help of the Dark Angel (Reika) he realizes his mistake and how much he loved the person who betrayed him. Love tragedy......
But can I say that Reika looked AMAZING!!!!!! She was so sexy and mysterious as the Angel of Death (Dark Angel) REIKA <3

Saturday
Kaname* and Reika
                   Saturday was sooo long and exhausting, but amazing :3 .I was dressed up as Shin-ah from Akatsuki no Yona. I was soooooo happy to find out there were a lot of people who had watched the anime and were so excited to see a Shin-ah cosplayer! :D
                  I attended a lot of Reika's panels that day even missing some for my Prejudging for the Costume Contest. I had tons of fun watched the Reika & Kaname* Q&A Panel. Kaname* kept running into the audience to pick people for questions, which showed how much of a people person he is. Sadly, I didn't get picked so my question for Reika is still unanswered :'( .

             While I was heading to my Prejudging I ran into Goldy!!!!! The Japanese Mecha cosplayer! I swear I was having good timing this weekend with Guest Stars XD. His work is sooo cool that is hard to imagine traveling with such huge cosplays!                 
             The costume contest was soooooo large with over 65 people competing and a packed house! I was so nervous that as soon as I got on stage I didn't even remember what I did. But it seems during my walk-on I stared right at my roommies in the audience before getting off stage XD. I seriously didn't even realize I did that XD.

                  After everyone performed their skit or did a walk on, they had two amazing performances to give the judges time to decide. Akira came on stage and sang Aoki Tsuki Michite, the ending theme song to Black Butler: Book of Circus!!!!!! I was SOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!! I love that song and Book of Circus is my fav from the Black Butler franchise.

               I didn't win the contest, of course, but it was still amazing. I had to run to my room to change since in less than an hour was the Disacode (Akira's band) & Anna Tsuchiya concert. I loved seeing Akira on stage! She is very much a story teller singer and I love that!!! (Probably my years at Renaissance Fairs XD). I wasn't a major fan of Anna Tsuchiya, but her music was very fun to dance too. After the concert I got my signed CD of Disacode :D, I really love the music and now the songs are on my iPod! Woot!!!

Sunday
            I wasn't able to cosplay this day, mostly because after the concert last night I was sooo exhausted I slept in XD. But something magical happened that involved Alex being a fairy-godmother. I was given a Lolita Extreme Make-over for the Lolita Skyline Tea Party. For three hours I went from tomboy to elegant Lolita princess XD.

             The food was amazing and I ended up eating a few extra desserts from those who couldn't eat anymore.They had Lemon Squares The chicken was really good and the atmosphere was festive. All the designers (Atelier Boz, Putumayo, Metamorphose, and Angelic Pretty) and major models were there. They gave away a lot of random prizes and everyone got small gifts from the designers. I love my gift from Atelier Boz, which is by far my fav style of clothing!!!! I hope to buy my own piece one day from Atelier Boz. I did buy a necklace from Putumayo which is my second fav brand name. It is a Gothic cross with red beading.

              After the food, I ran around with Alex and Daniela taking photos of them with the guests. So many famous people from Japan XD. Then I finally got my picture with Akira and Alex said something to Akira. Next thing I knew I was being close and personal with Akira. Worth every second for the photo Alex took and the fan girls squealing in delight XD

With that came the end of Anime Matsuri 2016, will I be back??? Not sure yet. I would love to......
I hope I get to see Alex, Carla, and Daniela again!!!!

My Cosplaying

I've grown up with conventions all my life, my father Joe Motes use to run a convention called Vulkon Entertainment. It was dedicated to most scifi shows, but he did create a few for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Back then I really wasn't into cosplaying, but I did find it interesting to see what people did. It wouldn't be until I attended my first convenion outside of Vulkon that I got really interested in cosplaying, Dragoncon 2009 to be exact. My friend Monica on the left and I am on the right.  Before I started to cosplay I was in a high school club called Paladin Society where I volunteered at Renaissance Fairs thought out south Florida. This is where I learned how to sew, weave on a loom, learned about Apothecary and weapons fighting. Anime Matsuri 2016

My long awaited return to Anime Matsuri (AM) came and went so quickly. I miss it so much and once again I have a lot to say about Anime Matsuri. I had no trouble getting there this year and that is always good. I had 5 new roommates: Marley , Dulce , Ryan , Samantha , and Kathryn . Sam and Kat, had horrible car trouble just five minutes from the hotel. Luckily, they were able to get the car fixed and still enjoy their time at AM. This year at AM was sharing my love for Reika and Kaname with my roommates and showing them how cool the guest stars are besides just walking around. By Day 2 of the convention, I think I succeeded *evil laughter* Day 0: Thursday Akira and I Landed in Houston at 1pm, which was perfect timing to attend the Meet and Greet with Akira at the shop Alice in Wonderland in China Town.
